Healthy Ageing

As we age, health can begin to deteriorate for many of us - but this does not have to be the case! A key philosophy of natural medicine is the importance of preventative health, i.e. living in a way that will prevent the development of illness and diseases that are often associated with ageing. These can include diabetes, deteriorating vision and hearing, arthritis and memory loss.


Promoting longevity and healthy ageing requires a multi-faceted approach involving a good diet and lifestyle. Certain herbal medicines, such as ginkgo, can be particularly useful at this time in our lives, as well as significantly increasing antioxidant intake.  


Mental and emotional health is one important aspect that can be overlooked, but is a key indicator for long term wellbeing. It may be due to family history e.g. diabetes; personal history e.g. recurrent infections and smoking; or a lifetime of neglecting your health.
